Child and Family Permanency Services in Freetown, Sierra Leone successfully reintegrates orphans and vulnerable children into families. How?
1. Trace the child’s biological family.
2. Provide safe interim care.
3. Assess the biological family’s ability to care for the child.
4. Provide family strengthening and microfinance support for a limited time until the family is stable.
5. Integrate the child into a forever foster family when no biological relative is available.
Child and Family Permanency Services has an outstanding record of quickly reintegrating children in families and excellent working relationships with government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Monjama is One Example of Many
Monjama received mentoring, training, case management, and a micro-loan to start a business. Now she is empowered to care for her deceased sister’s four children and keep them in school.
For $50 per month, you can empower a family to provide a safe home for a vulnerable child. Your commitment for a limited time will help meet the physical, educational, medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of a child by strengthening the whole family. Case managers will work with the family to identify needs, provide training, and assess progress.
The Bridge
$50 per month for as little as one year can help give a vulnerable child a bridge to an empowered family and a hopeful future. When you become a Bridge-Builder, you will help a specific family and receive non-identifying information about the family. You will be able to track their progress as they move toward healthy independence. They will know that a stranger in another country cares and is willing to help. Our Bridge-Builders receive regular updates as the family moves toward healthy self-sufficiency. Helping Children Worldwide is allowing us to access their infrastructure and learn from their amazing work.
