Girls often fall behind or drop out of school because they don’t have a way to manage their menstrual periods. A Days for Girls reusable menstrual hygiene kit can keep a girl in school. When a girl is able to stay in school, her risks of sexual exploitation, child marriage, teen pregnancy, and death during childbirth go down. Her lifetime income potential increases, not just for her but for her children too. That’s where the Dream Team comes in.

Uman Tok trained these amazing young Sierra Leoneans to distribute locally-produced Days for Girls Kits in schools. They provide reproductive and sexual health instruction when they distribute the kits. They also distribute books and sports equipment shipped to Sierra Leone by Understanding Works. To date they have distributed 700 Days for Girls kits in twelve schools. Every $15 donation helps purchase another reusable menstrual hygiene kit and help change a girl’s life.

What’s in a kit? A drawstring bag; eight washable flannel liners; two moisture-barrier shields that snap to panties; two pairs of underpants (which many girls don’t have); a washcloth; a small bar of soap; and two gallon-size Ziploc® freezer bags to transport soiled items, as well as to wash items in a small amount of soap and water.
Just $15 Can Change Her Future

A $15 donation will give a girl a Days for Girls kit, reproductive health knowledge she would not otherwise have, and something just as important—confidence, dignity, and hope for her future. You’ll also put a smile on her face. Our goal is 2,000 kits. 100% of your donation will be used to purchase and distribute Days for Girls kits.
